SANTA FE, Texas — A man, his girlfriend and a mutual acquaintance are accused of setting fire to his mother’s house, authorities said Thursday. Bonds for Richard A. Herod, 36, and his acquaintance George E. "Buddy" Sanford III, 33, both of Santa Fe, were set at $250,000 each on one count of arson, Capt. Barry Cook of the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office said.
